Abstract: 
A purified extract of fruits of A. indica was tested under laboratory conditions against larvae of the Colorado beetle by foliar and topical application. The extract caused no obvious inhibition of postembryonic development. Antifeeding activity could be proved by weighing the larvae. Feeding of adult beetles for a period of 5 days on potato plants sprayed with the extract at a concentration of 100 ppm caused a decrease of reproduction exceeding 98%. A field trial with 3rd instar larvae resulted in complete mortality after feeding on treated potato plants.
