Abstract: 
Various microbial metabolites, provided by the Institute of Biology II University of Tuebingen [West Germany], were tested against Epilachna varivestis Muls., Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say., Tetranychus urticae Koch and Aphis fabae Scop. GT 1/73 and 2/73 reduced the number of eggs of T. urticae and E. varivestis, but showed no influence on embryonic and postembryonic development. GT 5/74 inhibited the feeding activity on the Mexican bean beetles and Colorado beetles and resulted in prolonged postembryonic development and increased mortality. GT 12/75 and 13/75 were effective in reducing the reproductive capacity of E. varivestis. GT 12/75 and 13/75 caused interruption of the egg laying activity 2 days later.
