Abstract
The .beta.-mimetics Dilatol and Partusisten have a glycogenolytic and lipolytic effect. In 21 pregnant women significantly higher concentrations of 9 free amino acids were measured during i.v. tocolysis with Dilatol. After Partusisten infusion 8 amino acids were increased. After changing to oral medication of the tocolytica the concentration returned to a normal level again. The clinical significance of these findings is discussed.
