The description of heavy-ion collisions up to bombarding energies of a few hundred MeV per nucleon requires nonperturbative many-body approaches far from equilibrium which include the selfconsistent mean-field dynamics as well as the residual nucleon-nucleon collisional history. In this contribution we present such approaches within the framework of quantum correlation dynamics in the nonrelativistic case and derive selfconsistent transport equations for the baryonic phase-space distribution. This quantity allows one to follow the space-time evolution of the reaction, to determine the degree of thermalization and to calculate one-body as well as collective observables. We explicitly study the approximations performed in the derivation of the transport theory. As an application we evaluate the differential hard photon yield for heavy-ion reactions on the basis of the incoherent on-shell nucleon-nucleon production mechanism and compare it to the available experimental data. Furthermore, we analyze deeply inelastic binary collisions of Mo+Mo from 14.7 MeV/u to 25 MeV/u and evaluate double differential cross sections with respect to the total kinetic energy (TKE) and mass or scattering angle.
