Abstract
In recent years neural networks and evolutionary algorithms have evolved tu excellent PC-based tools for modelling and optimization of complex chemical and production processes. The most significant benefit of these techniques is their trainability. Thus complex dependencies within a process can be modelled and optimized without much effort from the end user. Besides of this every process model can be adapted easily to new applications by supplying new training data. The mentioned techniques are commercially available as software tools, named proFIT-Tools from Kratzer GmbH.
