Abstract: 
The article examines capitalist historiography including the books "The Modern World-System" by Immanuel Wallerstein, "The Cambridge History of Capitalism" edited by Larry Neal and Jeffrey G. Williamson, and "Studies in the Development of Capitalism" by Maurice Dobb. The economic history of the Atlantic slave trade, the alleged importance of international trade relations in capitalist economies, and the role of industrialization in the establishment of a U.S.-centered global hegemony are discussed.
